10 dogs in 5 days!?!

In which Jill celebrates a literal quick win.

The 4th of July weekend—the busiest time of year for animal shelters—is right around the corner. We are excited to share that Outta the Cage recently rescued 10 dogs in 5 days. Here are their stories.

#1, 2, and 3: The 3 Amigos!

Charley, Mookie, and Bobo hid in their kennel together, trembling. We rescued this tiny trio from East Valley shelter and got them to our buddy, Breann. They’re now living on her ranch!

#4: Tawny

We’d met Tawny several months ago at North Central shelter, and saw a bouncy, dog-friendly pittie. When we saw her again, she was hiding in her cubby. We got her out and let her ride shotgun!

Thanks to Jen Curtis and Family Dogs New Life, Tawny’s outta the cage!

#5: Max

We couldn’t resist adding 14-year-old teeny chi Max to the party, and he joined Tawny on the trip up to Oregon!

#6: Roger

We met Roger in early May at South LA shelter and couldn’t shake him. Sure, he looked like Jill’s old dog Pinky, but that’s not the reason we saved him. We saved him because we got the vibe that he’s a fun-loving potato who would be a good dog. And we were RIGHT! He’s now showing off his mad skills with our partners at HumbleK9.

#7 and 8: Choco & Latte

We’d videoed Belgian Malinois bruthas Choco and Latte at West Valley shelter, and networked them like crazy. Our partners at Woof Project Rescue said “Yes!” - and now they are safe in foster, ready for the qualified, breed-savvy adopters that are Woof Project’s jam!

#9: Harris

Outta the Cage heard about Harris, a sensitive beagle who had handling issues and was rescue-only at Baldwin Park shelter. We heard he had adoption interest and went to meet him and the prospective adopters. We took a chance on all three of them and it paid off. Harris is BLOSSOMING in his new home!

And #10: Mercedes!

Gosh, we love the semi-senior shepherds and anytime we have an interested adopter, we do what we can. Our buddy, Bonnie La Pierre, hooked us up, and Mercedes is now living the life with her new mom, Suzie, in Arizona!
